Hey guys, in my previous post we learned about yogi professional Leah Cullis and the benefits that yoga provides. Below is a video I shot for a ‘Smartphone Video’ class that I took at Columbia College Chicago that presented a yoga class and it participants in all their vulnerabilities. It has truly inspired me not only to learn more about the craft of yoga but to practice it as well.

DIY Fails: Why It Pays To Be Attentive

DIY Fails: Why It Pays To Be Attentive

DIY Fails

Ok guys, so we’ve covered just how dangerous some DIY projects can really turn out. If you don’t pay attention to the details, complete thorough research in advance and complete every step as listed then you run the risk of encountering some hurdles along the way. If the project requires you to use a tool you’ve never heard of, try to learn as much as you can from someone who is familiar with it.

Because it is so easy to get lost in all the excitement of starting a new project, I thought it would be a good idea to post a little safety reminder…with a twist. If you’re like me, then you probably have a dozen scenarios playing in your head…all the time…all at once. These DIY fails are not only funny but they serve as a great reminder to follow the steps and to pay close attention to the task at hand.

What I like most about salads is the fact that they are so quick and easy to make. It takes no time to grab a bunch of your favorite fruits and vegetables, toss them around in a bowl, add a drizzle of salad dressing and you’re done. You can make them as simple or as fancy as you’d like.

A Letter to Mom

Mommy

Mother’s Day is slowly approaching and I’ve been thinking this is the perfect time to pen a letter to my mom. Last year, this time around Riley was only a couple months old and I had yet to realize just how different my life would be. I’ve only been a mom for a little over a year and already I’m starting to understand all the difficult decisions/choices my mom had to make as a parent.

After the week I had, I was desperate for some R&R. Besides a good night’s sleep, I needed something to take my mind away from everything that made me want to pull my hair out! Being mom to a one-year-old mixed with a hectic work schedule can get a little crazy, as you can imagine. While I love my little munchkin, mommy needed some quiet time. And what better way to achieve this than with a relaxing and soothing bath.

Keeping your face looking its best should always be a top priority. However, with our busy schedules, I don’t blame you if you fall behind on getting a much-needed facial. But if you’re like me and lack time in your day to sneak away to a spa and sip on a glass of champagne to get a luxurious treatment, you might be in luck. This three-ingredient facemask is great for colder months when your face tends to dry out. It rejuvenates like no other and leaves your face with an amazing glow.

Mondays are always so very hard for me. After a relaxing weekend, the last thing I want to do is drag myself out of bed at 6am to head to that place called a job. I mean, how bad would it be if we all didn’t have jobs and were allowed to lay around in our PJs all day watching reruns of The Cosby Show? Yea, we’d probably fall back on bills and run out of pocket change for pizza, but we’d be relaxed and happy, and that’s all that matters, right?!

Okay, okay, back to reality. Maybe the second best thing would be a burst of energy on those slow mornings to give us the kick that we need. The Green Juice movement has been growing in popularity and has literally taken over the Internet. I will admit, when I first heard about it, I thought it was another quick-fix scheme that everyone was getting sucked into…again. Then, when I realized it was a ton of vegetables mixed in a glass, I immediately threw the idea out the window. Everyone who knows me, knows that I would rather be eaten alive by an alligator than to eat vegetables. Yea, that’s a bit dramatic, but it’s sadly just me.
